The Run Bentonville Race Series is a 7 races series beginning each year, with the Memorial Park Glow Run. The Race Series is a sequence of fun themed races of different courses and distances that are run throughout the year in Bentonville. Distances range from 2 miles to a half marathon. Points will be awarded to top finishers throughout the series resulting in one male and one female Race Series Overall Champion. The Race Series will conclude with the half marathon at the Run Bentonville Half Marathon in 2015.
Points are awarded to the Top 10 male and top 10 female finishers after each race. At the conclusion of the 7 race series, Overall Race Series awards will be awarded to the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female finishers. DOUBLE points will be awarded to Half-Marathon finishers. In order to earn point for the Run Bentonville Half Marathon, runners must compete in the half marathon. Points will NOT be awarded to 5k participants at the Half Marathon. In case of a tie, the runner with the most participation points (1 point per race) will be named the winner.
For every Race Series event that you participate in, you will receive 1 participation point. At the end of the series all runners who receive 6-7 participation points will receive a special Loyalty award.
With over 20 trail miles, there are endless place to guarantee youll get your run in. The Bentonville Trail system consists of three looped trails within our parks, (Memorial Park, Lake Bella Vista, and Park Springs Park). If you or your group is looking for volunteer opportunities, we always have jobs available at our events. Whether its working an aid station, street closure, handing out medals at the finish line, or working packet pick-up, we will have a job for you! Run Bentonville offers two training programs to guarantee youll be ready for race day, The 5k Training Program in the Fall and the Half Marathon Training Program in the winter. Both training programs are administered by Rush Running Company and are geared towards beginners with the goal of completing their first 5k run or half marathon. We provide a day-to-day training plan, weekly group runs, as well as a few clinics helpful to those new runners. You are more likely to succeed when you have a group to train and meet up with!
Yes, however if you anticipate walking at a pace of 20 minutes or slower please check with race officials about course time limits.
No. All timing chips must be returned at the end of each race. Failure to return timing chip will result in a $35 replacement fee, due no later than 30 days after the event.
In the unlikely event you forget to bring your chip on race day, and do not have time before the start to retrieve your chip, please visit the information tent by the start line and see a race official.
Strollers are allowed, but we ask that you keep your child in the stroller for the duration of the course unless you are stopped at an aid station. We also ask that you line up at the back of the start pack for safety reasons.
No refunds on cancellations. We are happy to give you your goodie bag and shirt if you are unable to run in the race for any reason. You may have someone pick it up for you with a signed copy of your registration confirmation, or we will mail it to you after the race if you live out of the area. If we are unable to hold the event due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be happy to transfer your registration to another Race Series event. Please contact us with any questions regarding our refund policy.
Yes. The friend needs a letter stating that you give them permission to pick up your packet. Please sign this and send it with your friend when they come to pick up the packet.
